Janome are huge supporters of Sewaid and have very generously sent along a large donation of machines and equipment to give to women living in extreme poverty, who will be learning to sew at the Katuuso School in Uganda. On behalf of these students, Hobbysew sends a big THANK YOU to Janome for their generosity.
The details for our next Sewaid program to Uganda are now in place and the Team will be going to Uganda in October 2013 to set up a sewing school at the Katuuso School and Community Centre. Additionally, two Team members will be travelling a little earlier than the rest of the team and spending a week in Antananarivo, Madagascar to give machine sewing instruction to the teachers at the Foyer Chrétien des Jeunes Filles. Thank you to all other volunteers who applied for this team. Please visit www.sewaid.com for information on upcoming projects.
A number of older model Bernina sewing machines have been kindly donated to Sewaid to be given to women in third world countries, who have no way of purchasing their own sewing machine. However, we are in desperate need of both foot controls and cords to suit Bernina models 807 and 830.
If you can help with these parts, your donation will be most gratefully received.
Please let us know by clicking on the Contact Us link on our home page and we can arrange to pick up your donation.
