If you have an artistic urge bubbling inside you, Helen Godden’s classes will be right up your alley. Helen teaches her own style of painted, as against pieced patchwork, which she has coined ‘paintchwork’. Helen also specialises in free motion quilting which she says enriches your quilt and adds to your enjoyment of the quilting experience. We say ‘hooray!’ because Helen is teaching lots of workshops at our Hobbysew stores. At Belconnen, she’s teaching ‘Doodle Diary’ on Saturday July 16 and ‘Free Motion Quilting’ on July 2 and August 18. At Figtree, Helen is teaching ‘Free Motion Quilting’ on July 4 and ‘Advanced Free Motion Quilting’ July 5 then ‘Arty Farty Birds and Flowers’, a two day workshop on August 2 and 3 and ‘Flying into Colour’, a two day workshop August 4 and 5. There’s a class coming up on Monday June 20 at the Kings Park store: Anne Sommerlad teaches four techniques that will give you a classic, hand-stitched appliqué effect using your sewing machine! You will also receive a bonus project pattern that will employ your newly acquired skills.

Anne also teaches ‘Choose your own project’ on an ongoing basis on Fridays, the next one is scheduled for July 15. Choose from any of her original quilt designs.
