A star in patchwork: Chris Jurd

Posted in Belconnen
Quilt Medallion

Learn this on April 19 at Hobbysew Belconnen

Here’s something to look forward to if you live in or near Belconnen! In April, the fabulous Chris Jurd is coming to Hobbysew Belconnen to teach foundation piecing. Make sure to book your place as both of the day-long classes are filling fast. On Monday April 18 Chris will teach the Basic Mariner’s Compass. This beautiful patchwork design is one of the earliest known quilt patterns and based on a star radiating from a circle. You won’t need any experience in foundation piecing.  On the following day, Tuesday April 19, the class covers Quilt Medallions. You’ll make a 32″ foundation-pieced medallion which can be incorporated into a quilt or other project (see photo above). Students should have a basic understanding of foundation piecing. BYO sewing machine.

Contact the Belconnen store on 02 6253 0011 for more information and to put your name down.
